1st Tooth and a Dbacks Game

Yup, my toothless wonder finally got his first tooth! Woo hoo! I've been feeling around in there for weeks now because he's been drooling enough to fill our pool. Saturday, I was greeted with a little roughness. Sure enough, it was his first tooth poking through. Sunday you could actually see it! So cute!

Daddy, Poppy and I also took Spencer to his first Dbacks game on Sunday. Despite the game starting at his nap time, he was a trooper and made it though the 7th inning. I guess we have a fan! He was enthralled with all the people and noises, and he really enjoyed riding around in the Baby Bjorn (even if Mommy didn't really love carrying him in it!).

He Scoots!

We don't have much new to report on the Spencer front. He is growing and moving, but not yet crawling. We saw an actual scoot yesterday, but that's as far as he's gotten so far. Edited to add that we have video confirmation of the scooting. See below. Still no teeth. He's got a little cold, but it doesn't seem to be slowing him down too much. And that's about that.

As for Mommy and Daddy, they have been busy. Daddy is studying for his exam at the end of the month, and Mommy was busy this weekend planning Kelly's baby shower. She actually made a diaper cake by herself (with the help of a you tube video). They're off to DC the last weekend in July (too bad LLPP has moved to Dubai!) And that's about that.

7 Month Pictures

So, I'm supposed to take professional pictures of my kid at his "milestones," 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, etc.  I'm consistently 1 month behind, so here are Spencer's 7 month pictures taken today.  We'll just call this his tongue phase, since he can't keep that little tongue in his mouth these days.

  

Also, yesterday Mommy and Daddy took off to play ALL day yesterday!  We had our Light Rail Pub Crawl, and we had a BLAST!  About 22 people showed up and we literally went from bar to bar.  SUCH fun!  Mommy forgot the camera though, so we have no photos documenting our drunken fest.  Probably a good thing!  Spencer had a blast hanging with Nana and Poppy and Uncle Lou Lou who is finally back home after spending a month in Europe (lucky guy!)

Oh, and this week our A/C was on the fritz, just in time for the "excessive heat warning."  Nice timing, huh?  We've finally got it back up and running, but that was not a fun 2 days.  

Last big thing this week: new couch in the living room!  Woo hoo!  It's so nice and comfy and gives us way more room than we had before.  I LOVE it!!

4th of July Weekend Recap

Phew, that was a busy weekend. Grandma and Grandpa arrived from Miami on Friday and left this morning to visit Uncle George and Aunt Buffy in San Francisco (Sonoma). In the meantime, we had a jam-packed weekend! Friday we hung out at the house and went to eat yummy Mexican food. Spencer came with us and had a great time looking at all the people, and sitting in his high chair like the big boy that he is!

Saturday morning we took off early to head to Pine. We met up with Grandma and Grandpa up there (the other set) along with Joel and Gladys and the kids. We had a great time hanging out, and walked around Pine's little festival. We BBQd then headed into Payson for the fireworks show, which was really good. Spencer was down for the count at that point and missed the fireworks.

Sunday Daddy and the rest of the gang went fishing at a lake, then we headed back to the heat and went over to the Biltmore pool to hang with Miami Grandpa and Grandma. Spencer enjoyed the pool, but it was SO hot for the little guy, we ended up taking him home pretty soon. Last night Miami Grandma and Grandpa came over after the pool where we BBQd again and just hung out. It was great seeing them, and they couldn't get over how much the Monkey has grown since Christmas. We had a fun visit, and we are definitely looking forward to our Miami visit in November!

Mommy's sad the weekend's over, she had a lot of fun hanging out with the Monkey all weekend, and she enjoyed the cool mountain air up in Pine. We will be visiting again soon!

Daddy's New Ride

So Daddy got a new car yesterday. He got a 4 door. That's a big deal for Daddy, since he's had sporty 2-door cars since we can remember. But, he's got a Monkey now, and he wants to be all grown up. In reality, Daddy was sick of trying to put Monkey into his big boy seat facing backwards in Daddy's old 2-door car. Let's just say it took some flexibility (which Daddy doesn't really have).
