He flips!

We have a rockin' and rollin' Monkey on our hands. The kid officially flips and is about ready to CRAWL! See for yourself:

This one's a little longer, but it's funny to see the progression:

And, here's the little Monkey putting his foot in his mouth. Literally.

I'm Ba-ack

So, this weekend got off to a great start! Thursday when we were on our way to pick up Spencer, we got a call that there was projectile vomit. We dismissed it as our overly-cautious daycare. Umm...wrong. The evening bottle before bed was followed by serious projectile puke. As was the morning bottle. (Note: it was Mommy doing the feeding BOTH of those times. Fun stuff). One quick call to the doc, and Travis and I were on our way out of town. Nana, Poppy and Grandpa had it covered. Seriously, if Travis and I made it out alive, they could manage with Monkey for the weekend. Nothing to cancel a trip over, right?

Short story: Monkey's ear infection never went away and the doc thinks he had a tummy bug. So, he's still on the meds, and his tummy is fine!

Daddy and Mommy meanwhile went on a much-needed trip to Napa! Daddy had promised to take Mommy there ever since the Freed wedding last summer when Mommy was DD for all her non-preggo friends! This time, Mommy was NO DD :) We had a blast, and enjoyed 3 full nights away from Monkey. We missed him like crazy, but were glad to have some time to ourselves.

And now, the pictures. The first place we visited? Elizabeth Spencer. Need I say more?

Our bike tour day began at Chandon (i.e., more champagne)

The next day we went to a castle:

And because no post would be complete without the Monkey, here he is with Nina (Cristy) and in his super cute PJs she got for him:

And for those of you that care, Monkey did not advance to the next round of his picture contest. I guess there are just too many other people out there with nothing better to do than vote, vote, vote. That's the last photo contest I enter him into!

Phew!

OK folks, we've got a lot of updating to do!

1. Thanks to you happily clicking away, Spencer has advanced to Round 2 of the Baby Idol competition. So, we need your votes once again! To reiterate, 1 vote per day for each email address. Here's the link:

2. We went swimming and he LOVED it!!

3. We got the Mother's Day pictures back. They turned out really cute:

4. Cristy's visit was AWESOME. Spencer loves her and thinks she's the funniest thing EVER! She and Mommy had a blast just hanging and catching up. It was truly nice to catch up with my BFF, drink some wine, gossip, and have her meet and hang with my kid. I needed it and appreciated it! Thanks, Cristy. Also, doesn't hurt that we had lovely massages today at lunchtime. How decadent!

Happy Monkey

Just wanted to give you all an update that Spencer is on the mend. He was super happy and chatty last night and this morning. Yay!

Oh, and tonight Travis and I are headed to the Jimmy Buffett concert. Bring on the margaritas (or some cold Corona with a lime) :)

AND...only one more day until Fairy Godmother Cristy arrives. Yippee!!!

Double Trouble!

So, Spencer's down for the count. He's got a double ear infection. Poor, poor, little Monkey. Given the immense pain he must be going through, he's in fairly good spirits. He was a little cranky on Mommy's Day, but generally a good little guy. He woke up, ate, and then cuddled with Mommy and went back to sleep until 10am (yippee!). Sunday night was another story, but we'll just gloss over that. Last night, after a little rigging of the bed (on an incline) and some well-timed tylenol, we're back to good sleeping.

Oh, and we started him on veggies this weekend. So far, he's only had sweet potatoes, but he's gobbling them up. Next, I think we try something green.

My very first Mother's Day on which I was an actual mother was so nice. I woke up to breakfast, roses, a big balloon, and a spa gift card! We had some professional pictures taken of Spencer, me and my mom. The photog even got Travis in some shots. I'm hoping they turned out cute. I'll get them on Friday - so expect a picture post then. And Cindy and Perry came over for a nice early dinner.

PS - keep up the voting!

Vote for Me!

OK, so I'm THAT crazy mom that enters her kid in a radio contest. And there's like a bazillion kids because everyone thinks their kid is the cutest. The contest really boils down to who has the most friends committed to voting for their kid each day. That's where you, lucky blog readers, come in. Please vote for my kiddo so he doesn't feel rejected later in life! Vote early, vote often (actually the rules are that you can vote once/day with each email address you have). Please do so!

(There's a NEW link...apparently the radio station is onto me)

Thanks, and Spencer thanks you too!

PS - he wins a $2000 visa gift card if he is crowned Baby Idol Arizona (or whatever the contest is called)

Edited to add: the glitch in the voting system yesterday was fixed. Please vote like crazy today!

Bad Blogger!

Alright, so I'm a bad blogger. Really, though, there's not much to update, and I have no new pictures. This weekend Spencer, Nana and I went shopping on Saturday and we all ended up with cute new outfits.

Spencer is sick (again). No worries, it's just a common cold. And I can be expecting these at least once/month from now until the end of time (OK, not really, just through his first birthday). At least, that's what Dr. Singer said. He's also not eating as good as he normally does. When I mentioned this to Dr. Singer, he practically laughed at me and said he's not concerned if my almost 5 month old, 17 lb. baby doesn't eat too great for a week.

In other news, Spencer has moved into the 6-9 month clothing. Most of it is still a little on the big side, but his 3-6 month stuff is getting a little snug. I don't want him to be the fat kid in little clothes, so we're moving up in size.

This weekend we'll be celebrating my first Mother's Day (so cute!) and next weekend Spencer's fairy godmother is coming for a visit (provided her husband lets her out of the house now that the swine flu is proving to be less scary than initially thought). Yippee!! Certainly we will have pictures to post of those two events.

That's all for now folks. Be back at ya in about a week with pictures to add.
