I'm officially a Marathon Runner!!

I did it!! Here I am at the finish line. Well, here I am after the finish line. That black sign over the street is the finish.

How'd it go, you ask? Well, I'm a little beat. A little sore, a little exhausted. Pretty much how you would expect to feel after you run 26.2 miles. I managed to stick to my program and finished in 5:02. Goal #1 was to finish. Goal #2 was to finish in 5 hours, so I just missed it. Oh well, I wasn't expecting to feel like I was going to pass out (literally) at Mile 22. All in all, it was a really fun experience. That being said, I'm not gearing up for another one anytime soon. I am going to take some time and enjoy being me for a little while and not Forrest (as in Gump). I'm looking forward to some alternate activities, like skiing and hiking.

This little guy was a tremendous supporter. He and Daddy (and Grandpa George) showed up at Mile 8, Mile 22 (right before I almost passed out) and at the finish line. They were SUCH great motivation!!

Nana and Poppy and Uncle Lou Lou were also there cheering Mommy on - they even made a sign for me! And at the finish line, we also saw Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Perry. What wonderful supporters!!

Oh, and thank you all for contributed to my cause, the American Cancer Society. Because of you, I was able to raise over $1,000.00 to help individuals affected by cancer. You can see in the top picture that I had a list of names on my shirt honoring and remembering those who have battled (or arebattling) this terrible disease. Thank you!!

Off to the Races...

Yup, it's time for Mommy's Marathon. This Sunday, January 17th, Mommy is going to trek 26.2 miles from downtown Phoenix to downtown Tempe. Monkey will, of course, be cheering from the sidelines (along with Daddy, and lots of our friends and family).

If you want to track Mommy, you can follow her at arizona.competitor.com and click on "Live Results" button. You can see when she crosses the 10K, 1/2 marathon, and 20 mile mark.

Wish us luck!!
